Emotional Intelligence
What is Emotional Intelligence?
Emotional Intelligence is a set of emotional and social skills which establish how well we:
- Perceive and express ourselves
- Develop and maintain social relationships
- Cope with challenges
- Use emotional information in an effective and meaningful way
While emotional intelligence is not the sole predictor of human performance and development potential, it is proven to be a key indicator in these areas.
It is not a static factor, like IQ, and can be developed in targeted areas.
People who are successful in life, often have a high level of emotional intelligence.
How is Emotional Intelligence Measured?
We promote the use of Multihealth Systems EQ-i2.0 Assessment Tool - an on-line tool to assess and report on emotional intelligence.
A great amount of rigor went into developing the tool almost 20 years ago and over 1,000,000 people have used the tool in multiple different languages.
Check and balances are built into the tool to ensure the most accurate results.
The test is completed on line via a portal which gives you access to the EQ-i2.0 tool. It can be used for individuals, for 360degree feedback or for teams.
Once completed, we will compile a report to be discussed in the next coaching session. It will set out how often you use particular skills of emotional intelligence compared with your peers in similar roles.
if you undertake the emotional intelligence asessment as part of your coaching programme, you may wish to focus some of your coaching sessions on development of some of your scial and emotional skills.
